What exactly do I have to do to
participate?
To participate, we ask that fill out the enclosed response form and
send it in as soon as possible. Please fill it out completely. We
also ask that you raise a minimum of $200.
You want me to do WHAT???
We want you to show your support of cancer heroes and survivors by
doing 100 kicks before the St. Charles East vs. North Football
game.
What is expected of me when I get to the high school?
Because we know it can be uncomfortable attending new events, we
make every effort to help you and your family feel welcome. Enter
St. Charles North High School and look for the BIG WHITE TENT on the
east side of the football stadium around 5 pm. You will see the
registration tables near the entrance of the tent. Sign in, and then
help yourself to a tasty “down home” meal. At some point during the
tailgate event, your drill team kicker will introduce herself and
ask you to join her for a photo.
At about 6:00, we will start lining you up with your Drill Team
kicker. By 6:30 you will be in front of the stands ready to do your
kicks! We first introduce each Drill Team member, you and your
affiliation, then the girls step in front and do their 100 kicks.
Afterwards, you step in front of the girls, and do YOUR 100 kicks.
After the kicks, we leave the field as a group. Your drill team
member will present you with a gift. At that point, the KICK-A-THON
is officially over. You are welcome to stay an enjoy the football
game if you choose.
Are there any personal benefits to participating?
Yes! Besides the personal satisfaction of helping out
organizations, such as the American Cancer Society Living Well Cancer Resource Center and the St. Charles Drill
Teams, you are also contributing to the sense of community this
event promotes.
Also, you will have your name and business/school/affiliation
mentioned the evening of the event, as well as printed in the
newspaper for the community to be aware of your involvement. You
(and your family!) will receive a free tailgate meal, admission to
the STC High School Football game, and a gift after the event.
Will there be any further information sent to me?
Absolutely! The Drill Team dancer that you are partnered with will
contact you about three weeks before the event. She will have a
packet of very important information for you. If you do NOT receive
this packet, please notify one of the Chairpersons of KICK-A-THON.
I am unable to attend on October 17th, but really want to help this
important and worthwhile fundraiser. How else can I help?
We would LOVE to accept your donation of any amount. We will
acknowledge your name/affiliation in the newspaper.
